About me
My name is Salvatore, I was born in Sarno (SA) and currently I live and work in Rome. I gratuated in Computer Science and I am working at a well-known american software company. Currently I am designing and implementing applications for large enterprise. I love my job because computers, along with painting, has always been one of my great passions. From an early age I always had many hobbies such as painting, electronics, computer, music, but over the years due to time restrictions I took the decision to select only few of them to be pursued with greater persistence, among these there is, of course, painting.
I started painting at the age of 12 years making a 40 × 40 canvas with oil colors representing the famous “Van Gogh Room”. My mom still has that painting which I deeply ashamed. Fortunately, in recent times at least I managed to remove it from the wall.
The initial results were not satisfactory and remained so for a much longer period. The negative cycle has reversed the trend when I first started visiting painting sites and forums. I began to seriously study the subject because it wanted to learn more and more. I started to buy several books on the Amazon website and some of them are reviewed in the Library section of the blog.
During my studies I collected lot of notes on painting in various notebooks. By the time these notes were becoming more numerous and cumbersome. Fear of losing them drove me to publish their content on the Internet. From here came the blog.
Over time, daily visits to the blog grew constantly and this has prompted me to turn my “private” space in a place of sharing and learning.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am in the same situation as you, although I am a beginner and have only been painting for a year. I am passionate about learning about art and improving my skills and have found so much useful information out there that I am also thinking of starting ablog to collect all the information. I find I have made so many paper notes, but I don’t refer to them. I think I would if it was on the internet. Your information has been simple, but invaluable. Please keep it coming. Lee-Ann
